Birthday Pics

My Auntie Karen sent some of the pictures that she took at the Birthday Party. Did I mention that it was 48 degrees. I had Kaj in his long underwear.
Grandpa Jim with Kaj on the right and the neighbor boy Big Russ on the left. Russ is two days younger than Kaj.
Here is Kaj checking out his cake.
Can you believe he ate half of this piece of cake! If you look close he has frosting on his nose in this picture. Too cute.
Here is the present opening with his friend Sienna. She is two weeks older than Kaj. Notice all of the red confeiti on the floor. Thank you very much Jes and Jes for that. It was worth it though since there was a carhart jacket in all of that.

Forts and pictures

Sorry I thought I had the birthday pictures on this CD but I don't so I will try again later this week.
Brandi and Dad working on her new fort. Heavy equipment was needed to haul away the old fort that her brother Shane had built.
Brandi carefully hauling away the old fort to heat our house.
Here is the site of the fort.
Brandi checking out the view above the fort.
Kaj had his first class picture. There were about 10 kids there. It is a good thing half of them were strapped in. The one to the right just did not want to be in the picture. Maybe next year we will be able to get even more of the kids to come down for the class picture. It will be even harder next year we won't be able to strap any of them down!

Big week a comin'

So this week Brandi will have her second piano lesson. We already had to go and perform at Kaj's Grandpa Jim's house. Grandpa Jim mostly chased Kaj around. Tonight we have to plant lilacs while we have the mini excavator at home. They had to come out from their original spot because the greenhouse addition was going there. The floor is just about ready to be poured for the addition. We also have the Ruffed Grouse Banquet to go to, Kaj to the doctor for his 12 month check up and of course the big 1st birthday party. So next week I should have quite a few pictures. On Saturday we are also having the first class picture for Kaj's class. I don't know quite how we are going to get all those babies to look in the same direction but we are going to do our best.

Also on Sunday I have a friend coming from Australia to visit. He is going on a trip around the world. It is going to be great to see him. I painted houses for him in Australia to earn a little extra cash.

Kaj has been practicing closing his eyes and then opening them again. It is so fun to watch him experimenting unless of course it is going to require a lot of cleaning on my part. He figure he gets yelled at for digging in the house plants with his hands so he has been experimenting with his feet. Still just as messy in case you were wondering!

I am getting a new truck today. Karli traded my old one in for me in the cities and then brought the new one back. She has had it in Duluth for a few days and Skinner had an appointment today so he went and got it. I can't wait. It has a crew cab! So that is all for now. I will try and get some pictures next week. Take care.

First Birthday Party, but not Kaj's...yet

I just like his face on this picture so how can a girl not include it.
The neighbor boy who is two days younger than Kaj came over to play. His name is Russell. Or Big Russ as we like to call him. Grandpa Jim had a good time with those two.
Big Russ
Ok so here is the first birthday party that Kaj got invited to. Her name is Sienna.
Here she is just after she got her cake.
And this is her about 30 seconds later. She decided getting to just dig into the cake was not all is was cracked up to be. The frosting started to build up and she couldn't move her fingers.
Grete also attended. I have to say that the fashion headbands with little bows that babies used to wear I didn't really care for. But I just love the huge flower.
We are attaching a greenhouse onto the side of our house for my plants and Skinner's hot tub. Here is Kaj supervising Daddy in the building of the foundation.

Oh I forgot more birthday party pictures. They had a bouncy house there for the kids to play in.

Here is the lil princess birthday girl.

All too much for one little boy to handle in one day.

Broke down again..

Good afternoon everyone,
Sorry but I am having technical difficulties again. This last week we were doing the whole first week of school think. Brandi starts piano lessons this week. I hope that goes well. And Kaj is now considered a toddler at daycare so they have new babies that they can have and boy do they entertain Kaj. He rocks them and talks to them. When he isn't too busy flirting with the girls his own age and older. He is teething again so now is not the time to consider weening. I thought I would not be the mother who's child knows how to lift up the shirt but he is just about there so soon I think I will be done. Besides the new teeth are not being kind to me! I will see what I can do about pictures later this week.

Busy, busy, busy

On Labor Day we went to Greenwood Lake to our friends Bruce and Patty's place. Charles, Bruce and Patty's dog, is watching Skinner and Brandi on the paddle boat.
Kaj is swimming or wading in the freezing cold water.

Daddy and Kaj playing peek-a-boo on Greenwood

Patty had picked blueberries and was feeding them to Kaj. At first she had to feed him. Then he was picking them out of her hand first one at a time and then by the fistful. Later in the day when we went blueberry picking he just skipped the grabbing them out of your hand and put his whole mouth in your hand and sucked them up like a hoover! That is when we decided that he could learn how to pick his own.

Kaj's first motorboat ride. He was not impressed to start with but it got better.

Just too dirty and tired to take it anymore

My parents took us on a ride on the Hjordis for Brandi's birthday present. It was all fun and games until....

Someone lost her sunglasses over the side of the boat! The Hjordis does not turn on a dime.

Father's and their Daughter's

My cousin Anna came with too. She and Brandi hung out most of time in the cabin of the boat. There was not much happening because there was no wind at all.

Do I really need to say anything?!
