Backwards

This post is totally backwards. Starting with this picture which is the kids after they took a hike down the river with their Dad. As I type this an hour and a half later Kaj is still sleeping in the shop. Brandi at the cave
On their way down the river.
Kaj at the cave
Kaj enjoying the ride down the river.
This was this morning way before the hike. The snow is so hard that you can run anywhere!
It just looks wierd.
Brandi running around before church.
Kaj enjoying the snow.
Another picture of Romeo. He is so stinking cute!
And very curious. It is hard to get a picture because he is always trying to see what is that thing in your hand.
Gramma and Grampa came over and enjoyed some fun in snow. Can you see Grampa's feet in the air as he slides down the hill on his back.
Kaj leading Gramma up the mountain for the upteenth time!
Gramma leaping off the snowbank.

It was all backwards but I think you get the idea.

Meet Romeo and the 7 foot long list

This is the 7 foot long guest list! Not sure what to do yet. I think I will start writing out invites and when they are gone they are gone.
So today we had a little package delivered. Or we thought it was little until we saw the trailer!

Luckily this was the little guy that came up in the trailer. Romeo is a 13 year old gelding.

He is very friendly and loves apples

The girls won't leave him alone. I think he will fit in just fine. He is already trained to drive and ride. He came with a cart so hopfully we can get out with him soon. He is so stinkin' cute.

North House

Saturday the kids and I went down to the North House for a family dance and toy making workshop. Brandi had a great time. Kaj liked it but was a little too tired after staying up with Brandi until 10 the night before.

The kids got to make a limber toy out of a potato and some dowels. You take and sit on a piece of flat wood and pound it with your hand and hold the limber toy over it to make it dance. It was a cute project. After that Brandi and her friend Sophie when skiing with my Dad and Rebecca. Kaj promptly fell asleep after we dropped off the girls and took a 3 hour nap. Which was good because it was another late night since some other friends came over. Then today we went to church and a fundraiser for some friends. The wife mysteriously hit her head when she was home alone one weekend. Her husband found her unresponsive when he got home Sunday night. She had been unconcious for a long time since the dog had gone to the bathroom in the house a few times. Anyway she was taken to Duluth and her husband had made the decision to pull the plug and all of the sudden she started coming around and now about two-three months later she is starting to walk, can talk, and is getting back her short term memory. A really amazing story. After the fundraiser we came home and did Sunday afternoon stuff, read the paper, planted some seeds...
Another amazing story has been my second cousin(I think that is the title)David and his fight with cancer. Soon he will be going to heaven but what an inspiration and living life to its fullest. I think of his kids often since I have been in that situation. But it is really different because they are younger and have had a long time to deal with the situation already. They wrote some letters to their Dad to take with him. They are very heart wrenching. So I know most who read this are family but for those that aren't and don'tknow the situation, please keep the Baty family in your prayers.

Same old, same old

Busy weekend, still broke down as far as the logging operation, kids went sledding, swimming, sunday school, church, watched a movie, kids tore apart the house...
All more of the same. I am really sick of winter but at the same time we need to be able to at least try and put up some wood this winter so I guess it can stay cold for awhile longer so that can happen. It is just a real drag the road bans because then you are pretty much shut down for a month to a month and a half. Then finally the trucks can roll after the roads dry out.

We have Brandi this coming weekend as well. It should be pretty fun because there is a family day at the North House Folk School. They are going to make wooden toys and then there is a dance as well. I also think that Dad and Rebecca are going to take the kids skiing at some point.
