Oh snap

The good the bad and the ugly of parenting shall all be included here.  This weekend Kaj was being a snot and continually arguing with his cousin Tyler who had come to spend the night.  At one point on Saturday I was getting him to go outside and he said "why don't you shut up and let me live my life!"  really it was more like yelling at me.  So he got a spanking, got yelled at to get himself outside to help haul wood.  Afterward he went on his own up stairs and was in his room until the attitude changed.  It really is a bummer when it all falls apart for a moment.  After that he was just fine and good the rest of the weekend.  Thank goodness.  Today he is off to play with Reese and Gus.  Hopefully he will be able to hold it together for the day.  He seemed to be in good spirits though so I think it will go fine.

Me: Kaj are you supposed to be practicing your recorder for music class?

Kaj:  I don't know I can't understand anything the music teacher says she talks in metaphors.

Me:  What is a metaphor?

Kaj:  It is a simile

Me:  What is a simile?

Kaj:  (He had the right definition for metaphor and simile but of course I can't remember his wording.  The funny part was really how it all started)

Who's on the Farm

It occurred to me yesterday that there are a lot of occupants on the farm right now.  And over the course of my life there will probably be many more so I wanted to list who we have right now.
