laptop
For a moment Kaj was super excited this afternoon. I get a call at work, he has the day off from school. "Mom did you order a laptop or tablet recently, because I have one here right in front of me" I said no and start frantically looking up my Amazon account. Kaj had been eyeing up a laptop and had put it in the Amazon cart a while ago and I just placed an order today but hadn't included the laptop so I was searching the past orders to make sure I hadn't ordered it by accident. I had him look at the shipping label to see if it was really to us or for Auntie. I couldn't find the order and he finally found the shipping label and it was indeed for Auntie. I said he should call and ask her about it and where she got and do some research. Maybe it would be better than the laptop that he was looking at. He called her and he doesn't ask that stuff he asks if he can have it. Long story short she didn't go for and she paid $80 for the new one but he can maybe have her old one. I was like "Isn't that crazy mom $80 for such advanced technology!" Then he went on about advanced technology and micro technology and then about spitting when he was talking because he was so excited and using unusual words.

Thank you Grandpa
Well for all the things that Grandpa is nervous about Kaj doing he then goes and shows him how to split wood. Nothing like teaching a kid how to put a splitting maul right into his leg! That did not happen of course. Now Kaj is splitting wood like crazy. However he is sticking with the dry stuff. He tried some of the birch and it was so hard it hurt his wrists so he is going to keep practicing and cutting wood for the cousins camping trip.
On the house front we are currently living in the living room and most everything is out of the upstairs. So now I can rip and tare without having to spend twice the amount of time cleaning that I do ripping. I can just walk away. Garage sale this last weekend went well and I am happy that it is completed.

Grillin'
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Auntie Bette and Auntie Doris for teaching Kaj to grill over charcoal and then giving him the grill. Last we got charcoal and lighter fluid. Kaj picked out the kind he wanted. We got home and he went right to setting up the charcoal in the grill and had it lit in about 10 min.. Then he grilled the brats to perfection (not even kidding, the best grill job ever, can't say enough about it). Then be still my beating heart, he put the charcoal and lighter fluid away in the shop! Thank you for teaching him this skill. We know now that he will be able to grill and make toast!

Poor little Anssi
So yesterday Anssi, my very first dog of my own, started stumbling around. He was really dizzy and the vet says that he has transient vestibular disease. Which means that he will be dizzy for about a week and then get better, maybe. We will have to wait and see. We are on day 2 and he hasn't been eating or drinking and he really can't walk and you can tell that his world is still very dizzy. Not sure what is going to happen there.
Before we went to the vet: It was lunch time when I noticed that he was walking like a drunken sailor. I called the vet and loaded him in the car. Not sure what was going to happen I stopped at school to let Kaj know that I was bringing Anssi to the vet and I wasn't sure if we were going to have to put him down or not. I asked Kaj if he wanted to see Anssi or come with or just stay in school. He decided to come with "to support you(me)". Sometimes he can be pretty sweet.
