Sorry no pictures

Well it has been a rollercoaster. Last week I got the flu on Thursday, so I was out of commission for Friday too. Saturday morning Skinner got the flu and that took him out for a couple of days. At least the kids didn't get it...yet. Anyway we had promised Brandi that we were going to go down to this cave on the river by our house and have a cook out. It was supposed to warm up some this last weekend and it would be a good outing. Since Skinner got the flu that was not going to happen and I was not comfortable taking both of the kids on the river by myself so I took Kaj and Brandi on a snowshoe hike and we stayed on the property. Kaj was crying before we left, he still is not sure what to think of being in a sled but he quieted down and off we went on our adventure. We didn't really go very far but it was enough and we found a place to hunker down and build a fire. Brandi was very concerned what we were going to use for shelter. So we found a spot and she started collecting firewood and Kaj started crying. He was crying and crying and Brandi was just working away at organizing for the fire and in the "fort". We of course did not have anything really to get the fire started. We had a lighter but no birch bark or anything like that. So really we sent up some smoke signals and that was about it. At one point Brandi said the fire is going out, Kaj is crying we are doomed! She was right. We headed back to the house and she got her Dad off his butt and he took her down to the cave. It ended up being a good afternoon but man was Skinner pooped after that. Kaj was just happy as a lark when we got home, that little stinker!
