Almost spring...maybe

I was much too busy this weekend to actually remember to take pictures. So I will just have to give you the quick update.

Friday night Skinner went to pick up Brandi from her mother. Before he left he parked the mini-excavator in the front yard. I thought it was a cue for me, but really he did it so he wouldn't tear up the yard moving it if it rained that night. So when he got home he discovered that I had torn up the yard. We were trying to remove some grass to put in a flower bed. It was my first time in the Mini and I had Kaj helping me so I dug up a bit more than just the grass. Anyway, Saturday came around and we worked all day on the new flower bed. Grandpa Bill and Grandma Gert stopped by to visit and the boys from the cabin on the river to up quite a bit to visit us during the day. It was beautiful out and we got it just about done. Saturday night Brandi's friend Sophie and her mother came up for a BBQ. Then Karli texted that she and her boyfriend Dan were on their way up to head out on their canoe trip...correction...fishing trip.

Sunday was another beautiful day. Dan and Karli headed out about 6:30 and we went back to work on the flower bed and Skinner started fencing in more of the surrounding area to give the girls more grazing room. Again more visits from the boys. I think the youngest one has a crush on Brandi. Gavin and Brandi eventually got over their shyness and played. You don't get to play together very long when you spend three quarters of your time not looking at each other because you don't want the other one to know that you might want to play.

Not sure if any of this is making sense I have been looking at this computer screen too long.

Since Sunday evening the weather has cooled down again and the clouds have rolled in. All I have to say is that I don't care if it is a fishing trip or a canoe trip I would be very cold. Thursday should be nice, so at least they will have one nice day.

Other than that not much has changed. Supposedly starting on Monday we will have Brandi for the next 14 months while her mother is training for the Border Patrol. It should be a great year and I am excited for Brandi to be able to just stay in one place for a year.
