10 years old

So Kaj is 10 years old and in 5th Grade.  My how time flies.  He is smart as a whip, self sufficient but loves to cuddle with his Mama which I love.  He told his teacher he needed homework or he was going to quit school.  He got homework.  He isn't a fan of reading but holds his own.  Does very well in math.  He is our master raker for the hay fields in the summer, his legs are finally long enough this year that he can shift the tractor.  He really wants to build a raft, but the floatation on the bottom is proving difficult to come up with.  Most of the ideas are big and cumbersome.  He makes a mean French toast.  He says the secret is the cinnamon.  He is good with computers.  And other equipment.  He seems to have his dads gift of being able to climb in any machine and drive it.  He went on his first camping trip with cousins Reese and Gus with Grandma and Grandpa along for the ride.  He is in charge of feeding the baby chicks.  He has gotten to shoot the 22 on his own.  He loves to talk and in true kid fashion he also is listening when you don't know he is and picks up on things that he probably shouldn't.  He likes reading Encyclopedia Brown, watching Tom and Jerry (he says the physics are more realistic than the current cartoons), How to Train your Dragon and Lego Ninjago.  His good friends are the neighbor Russell and classmate Cade.  He is 4'8.5" and 65 lbs.  I think.  I can't remember we are building a house and my brain is mush.  Oh and Kaj started out his 5th grade year with all of us living in a camper.
